Sydney Hobart Yacht Race

The Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race has been an icon of Australia’s summer sporting calendar for 77 years.

The race finishes at Constitution Dock, Hobart and visiting when the race wraps up is a complete thrill.

There are over 100 yachts competing in the race – starting in Sydney on Boxing Day annually, the contestants race for several days with the winner usually finishing in less than two.

With Best Western being a Hobart CBD hotel, it’s only a 15 minute walk to see the boats berthed in the marina.

While viewing the boats why not stop by the famous Salamanca Markets, or visit the historic Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens.
